Rebellion Launched
Great news! ‘Langbourne’s Rebellion’ is now available on Amazon and through some leading retailers.
After some minor glitches, (and a typo on the cover!) the book is up and available for purchase. Ebooks are also available on Amazon and on this site. (Click the ‘Buy Books’ tab above.)
My thanks to Scarlett Rugers, my incredible designer, for all her help in fixing up my niggly issues, and a special thanks to my cousin, Steve Landau in the USA, for his once over before I pressed the final button!
I hope my readers will enjoy the book - I had a lot of fun writing it, the storyline just flowed and I couldn’t stop churning out the pages.
And now its time to work on the third book in the series….
Research Travels
I recently didscovered some relatives of the Langbourne brothers so have set out ro meet them in the quest for more information on these incredible people. The first stop is the UK where I am right now.
I have met with David Langbourne’s grandson, who was an amazing person in himself. Yesterday I met with Morris’ granddaughters, whom likewise were fascinating.
I leave the UK tomorrow for Switzerland where I will meet with a grandson of Morris. I have not met him before, so am very excited.
From Switzerland I will travel to South Africa to finalise the second book, ‘Langbourne’s Rebellion’, and to work on the third book in the series.
Be sure to follow my Facebook Page for updates on the launch of ‘Rebellion’.
First Novel!
The paperback version of ‘Langbourne’ has arrived and been listed on Amazon.com. It is very exciting to finally see your work in print, especially wrapped in the cover that Scarlett designed!
On the same token, it is very bizzarre to see your name printed on the cover. I’m sure other first-time authors felt this when they received their first printed version of the book.
There are still a couple of typos in it that I picked up, but I’ll let that go for now and fix them in the next version. (I’ll wait for a while to see if others picks up some that I missed before making any corrections.)
I’m now frantically working on the manuscript for ‘Rebellion’, and loving it!
Final Edits
I have now received the final edits and made all the little corrections that have been lurking in the text.
I have discovered something quite incredible; I have asked seven people to read over the manuscript (apart from my editor) and each of those people have found small errors that other did not. It is simply amazing how different people read and notice different things in English written text.
It has been an interesting learning curve for me.
Well, soon my designer will be fixing the edits and hopefully before Christmas I’ll have a book I can publish.
Can’t wait!
Alan
Website
Yesterday and most of today I have been trying to get a handle on building this website using Sandvox. It is much easier than another program I was using! But now I am delving into the realm of Blogs, and I’m finding this setup rather confusion. Regardless, this post is a test to see how it works out in the end.

Getting there
The manuscript for ‘Langbourne’ is now complete, and so is the editing! The book cover has been designed and the page design is currently under way. I have opened a Facebook page, Twitter and Instagram account, although there is nothing on them at the moment, so there’s no point in listing them here now.
Meanwhile, I have made a start on ‘Rebellion’. The research for ‘Rebellion’ has been fascinating.
So ‘Langbourne’ is almost finalised. We’re getting there...
